2015 LMAA Tyler Hill Scholarship Award

Tyler Hill was a former LMAA football participant and the son of Alan and Sheryl Hill of Mound. Tyler passed away unexpectedly in 2007. With the help of the Hill family, the LMAA Tyler Hill Scholarship was created and is awarded annually to a senior from one of the participating LMAA youth football programs: Armstrong-Cooper, Hopkins, Minnetonka, Orono, Westonka, St. Louis Park, Wayzata, and Maple Grove. The scholarship is to be used for post-secondary education. The applicant must have played at least one full season of football in the LMAA and must live the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and service to others.
 
This years award winner is Mound Westonka High School Senior Charlie Sir. Congratulations to Charlie!

Homecoming Parade - October 10th

All Westonka Youth Football players are invited to participate in the Homecoming parade on Friday, October 10th. The parade begins in the Hilltop Primary School parking lot at 5:00pm and ends in the Mound Westonka High School parking lot around 5:30pm. Players who are interested in participating should plan to meet at Hilltop around 4:30pm and wear their football jersey and White Hawks gear. Following the parade there will be a carnival outside of the football stadium for kids and their families leading up to the Homecoming game where the White Hawks take on the New London-Spicer Wildcats.

Please let your coach know if you will be participating in the parade.


Vikings of Tomorrow

The WYF 5th Grade football players had the opportunity to participate in the Vikings of Tomorrow program presented by Lifetime Kids this past weekend. Coach Lawrence Nemecek signed the kids up last year and was notified that our team was selected. Several of the players were able to scrimmage each other and get a tour of the Vikings practice facility on Saturday as well as meet of few of the Vikings players. On Sunday, all of the 5th graders along with their coaches and a parent, attended the Vikings game at TCF Bank Stadium. Below is a link to a video clip that was played at the game. White Hawks Youth Night

White Hawks Youth Football Night is Friday, September 12th. Come cheer on our White Hawks to a victory over the Orono Spartans!

All players will be introduced at half-time of the game. Players must come dressed in their game jersey and bring the attached flier to receive free admission to the game. The varsity game starts at 7:00pm. Players should meet their coaches by the south end zone gate around 7:45pm to get lined up.


White Hawks Tuesday Night Chalk Talk

You are invited to join the Mound Westonka Varsity Football Coaches on Tuesday Nights for a Chalk Talk session. Gain insight into the game plan and team philosophy, ask questions, get involved, and see game film of the upcoming opponent.

Ridgeview Rehab Specialties Clinic in Spring Park offers ImPACT Testing for concussions. The Baseline test which is appropriate for children ages 10 and up is $5.
